Family Law and its impact on society has been with us now for just over 30 years. I have been an active participant in the debate for nearly 10, and perhaps should have been for 30 years because that's when my parents divorced, 1976, a year after this horror legislation was enacted.

In this newsletter we, The Richard Hillman Foundation, seek your help by joining our E-mail Group and assisting us explore the ' whole ' picture of what is happening to our society by the Divorce Revolution. The word ' WHOLE ' is used as it appears that different rulings are being given to different families, and along gender lines, that defy family cohesion and common sense.

The Richard Hillman Foundation is attempting to tell the family's story, of this holocaust whether it be the child's, one of the parents or the extended family. Everyone is affected in some way, even if it's only at Christmas time. Please view our web www.rhfinc.org.au and let's know if you believe that it is biased, inaccurate or deficient toward any group of victims.

Why do we need your help?
| We need your help because like an internal cancer to the body,
the damage spreads undetected until it affects the whole of the body, and
in this case, society. Today we are all affected by divorce even though
many of us don't realise it. For example, many of us fear for our safety. Do you think we fear people who have a loving and meaningful relationship with both parents, or is it more likely we fear people who are dysfunctional because of the abuse that has been perpetrated upon them in their formulative years ? In which type of families are these dysfunctional people, who have no respect for others or the community, likely to be reared ? |

Why do the victims need your help?
| The victims need your help because the decisions and processes that the victims experience in the Family Court seem to render the victims hopeless and useless, especially in those processes required to fix the system. Add to this the attitude of the normal / unaffected population which has little knowledge of the real horror and devastation of this system, which causes the trauma ...... and nothing is done to change the system ........ so the system roles on adversely affecting more and more families and weakening society. | |||

The Family Court in Australia, at least in our opinion, needs to be made accountable, for their part in the breakdown process. The courts seem to reflect Orwell's 1984 at it's best, where for example the Minister for Families really becomes the Minister for Dysfunctional Families. Similarly, ' these opposite or conflicting behavior's ' are happening in the Family Courts, where the courts that should be ruling in favour of the best interests of the child, parents and families appear, in practise, to be doing exactly the opposite by creating and maintaining even more dysfunctional families.

The Richard Hillman Foundation asks, "Why, otherwise, would the Family Court be getting so many complaints from all parties?" The 2004 inquiry into the Child Custody is a good example. www.aph.gov.au/house/committee/laca/familylaw/ The inquiry received approximately 1500 submissions, many times more than the usual controversial inquiries attract, and most of these were scathing about their treatment in the family court from mothers and fathers alike.

The RHF wants solutions to this societal problem and we need your help. We appreciate and support those groups who act in the best interests of different victims on a day to day basis, and hope that they will support us in our quest.
| For solutions, all victims and groups must unite against the common enemy, keeping our own priorities, but all agree that the anti - family decision making and defying common sense solutions must go. | |||
| In the coming weeks we will explain our views on how different interpretations of domestic violence, abuse, alienation forced or disruptive contact and court processes keep the victim groups - mother's and father's alike - fighting against each other, when in fact they should be united. | |||
| We thank you for and look forward to your continued support and patronage. M. Bourne. Chairman Richard Hillman Foundation. |
